“Driving home from a World Cup game so I don't want to overpower everyone in my mostly non fragrance loving family so I went light with Guerlain cuir beluga on my upper torso and one little spray of commodity milk orchid on the back of my knees. With Phlur missing person lotion as my base this is my favorite road trip combo and it's sweet and soft and makes a beautiful but not overpowering scent bubble that sits close on me. I know I smell beautiful but I'm not screaming it to the whole car lol. Have a great day !!!”

“Their best sellers (Missing Person, Father Figure, Vanilla Skin) were underwhelming on my skin because they either lacked complexity or smelled very synthetic (in the case of MP, I think I'm completely anosmic to it).”

“I purchased a discovery set, mostly because I wanted to see what all hype was with father figure and missing person. Yeah missing person was very nice, father figure wasn't an instant standout, however there was one in the pack that I really like. Honeymoon. I hardly ever see anyone mention it but I'm considering buying a full bottle. Anyone else like Honeymoon besides me? Side note: father figure and missing person don't last on me, but honeymoon lasts a good 12 + hours.”

“I want to hate them because they are overpriced, but I love them 💔 I have tried and liked the edps of Somebody Wood, Missing Person (and body oil), Father Figure, Mood Ring, Honeymoon, Golden Rule, Soft Spot, Solar Power, Tangerine Boy, Vanilla Skin, Vanilla Smoke, and Afterglow and body mists of Moonstone, Peach Skin, Coconut Skin, Island Swim, Mango Mood, Dragonfruit, Heavy Cream, and Beach Skin (and body oil)”

“A bit different but Missing Person body oil by Phlur is gorgeous smelling and I find it lasts a long time on my skin. It's slightly sweet, ethereal, floral, skin-scent. It's non-sticky feeling/a dry oil and man, the scent is divine. I see you don't like powdery and there can be a powdery note to me but you can also try Vanilla Skin body oil; a beautiful vanilla scent!”

“The body sprays are better than the edp's. They smell LESS alcohol forward and less chemical, surprisingly. This was the first discovery set I bought after getting into frags and I fell for the trend then bought full bottle of father figure and missing person. I returned both when I got them. I kind of hate them. I did keep the missing person body oil.”

“So i've had this problem with missing person by phlur. for some reason, the first few hours of it, it smells like peanuts on me. no idea why. reminds me of like.. pad thai? but one night i fell asleep with it on and woke up the next day to the most gorgeous dry down ever. anyway, i shower at night so ive been pondering the idea of applying it after i shower at night, going to sleep, and then waking up to the beautiful, blissful dry down. maybe something you could try?”

“I've been wearing this for a few weeks now. There is something kind of addictive about it. I admit that the first sniff is not the way it wears for sure, and that's a good thing. I do think this is one that may not work for everyone (hello Missing Person) but it does work for me and I love it. It's not too flowery or sweet but has enough to keep it interesting. It's not soapy (it definitely starts that way)but smells clean. I think maybe trying it then coming back to buy if it works is the way to go.”

“Phlur just came to Sephora in Sweden and I was so excited to smell all of these since I've heard so much about them. I sampled every one of them on paper and with every single one of them except the strawberry one I was like ”I'm sorry what”. Like it was giving air…airy nothingness. Especially this one and missing person :(”

“Eternal Musk is a really good cheapie I've been loving. It's kinda in the same vein as Missing Person without the peppery notes. It's not floral or milky, just smells like clean skin but not soapy or too fresh. If anything it's on the woody side, just barely. Missing person is definitely a good one too, but I haven't been reaching for it since I got this. It's by Paris Corner and literally 20 doll hairs.”

“If you like phlur's missing person (I recommend sniffing first; it's a “clean skin” scent but very polarizing), I genuinely think their body oil is straight up better than the EDP. I've had good success with saltair and salt and stone's body oils as well! For saltair, I specifically like the driftwood one 🪵”

“Eternal Musk by Paris Corner is a really good cheapie for around 20. It is in the same vein as missing person, just less peppery to me. It's definitely worth the price. I have a 7.5 ml of missing person and I havent touched it since I got eternal musk. I'm like really excited I found it, I never hear anyone talking about it.”

“As someone whose first fragrance love was missing person (and also the first full bottle I've finished), I can 100% agree with these recommendations. I'm on my fourth bottle of nemat amber oil and I am working my way through 11:11 now as my “easy reach” perfume. When I leave for work before 6am and it's already humid and almost 80F outside, these extend the fresh out of the shower feeling I had right before I opened the front door. 😂”

“I don't like orange blossom or neroli, but for some reason, I like Phlur Missing Person. I thought I hated it, tried it on my skin and found myself feeling somewhat aroused by the dry down. I can still smell the neroli but it's like I interpret it differently in that fragrance.”

“I love that you found your very own scent profile. I totally get it. Also not smelling bad. When I take public transport I make sure I have a fan with me, that I stayed with one of my perfumes to survive the stench in summer. 😂 I have heard Phlur has perfumes that are airy and light. Like "Missing person". Ever tried that one?”

“Phlur - Missing Person. I hate it so much. I didn't mind it on a blotter, but when I did a skin trial I had such a visceral reaction to it. I tried to scrub it off and it wouldn't go away. To this day, I swear it gave me a sore throat and headache.”
