What Reddit owners say
5/5“Everytime I wear Philosykos I have to resist the urge to drink some of it. It is one of my most favourite scents I own BUT I really wish it lasted much longer, I dont think it's a diptyque issue because some of their other scents do last well enough so I hope something can be done about this too.”
4/5 SweetnessMass appeal“- Have smelled and like at least one fig perfume like Philosykos, Avgoustos, Fig infusion, Figuier Eden”
5/5 SweetnessFresh & clean“Philosykos EDT when I just want that clean green vibe, fig is a favourite note for that.”
4/5 SweetnessFresh & clean“These short-lived green leaves are not as strong as those in Philosykos or L'Ombre dans L'Eau from Diptyque.”
5/5 Fresh & cleanValue“If you like the green fig scent, I feel like Philosykos does it the best.”

5/5“Philosykos quickly turns too vegetal to my nose after applying it; it loses that figgy sweetness that makes it shine.”
4/5 Fresh & clean“I'm wearing Philosykos EDP right now and it's giving exactly that! Because to me green notes read as clean. And the coconut-y dry down feels super cozy to me.”
2/5 SweetnessUnique“It's very different to Philosykos.”
5/5“I have the Philosykos EDP and while I love its greenery sometimes I yearn for just a fig that's a touch more creamy to balance the green.”
2/5 Value“I prefer Debaser or Philosykos.”
4/5“I feel the same way you do. I got into fragrance in 2024, then stopped for all of 2025. When I got back into it, I realized that the only one I could consistently enjoy was Diptyque Philosykos EDT, because it lacks a traditional perfume smell and heavy base.”
3/5 Projection“I bet she'd like Diptyque Philosykos. Avoid houses (like Imaginary Authors) that go for beast mode projection/longevity, they are the worst offenders for triggering reactions. I've had good luck tolerating these houses: Diptyque, d'Annam, Guerlain, DS & Durga, Henry Rose, Liis, Ellis Brooklyn, Commodity (the personal line), Jo Malone. Some of them have great discovery sets.”
4/5“Just bought a Philosykos solid for my partner's birthday and I too heard they were going to discontinue them (though they apparently don't want to make it official and give mixed information when asked). If that happens I was planning on buying the edt or edp and make the solid myself, I've done it with other fragrances I own and it's pretty easy 😅”
3/5 Mass appeal“Yes! 🥲 I love fig, but most of them turn sour on my skin & dry down to "armpit of t shirt that hasn't been washed at high enough temperature" smell... like deoderant residue. Only Philosykos is safe.”
5/5 Fresh & cleanSummer“The last spritzes of Philosykos EDT, which I wear every August. It just reminds me of the end of summer and several wonderful vacations. Will definitely be a repurchase for next year. May try the EDP next year. So Fresh and green; just love it!”
5/5 Value“Avgoustos is gorgeous! It's my substitute for Philosykos (I own both but the Korres punches well above its price bracket).”
5/5 Formal“I am in love with Philosykos EDT. I plan on wearing it for my wedding. I'm going to lather myself in all things Philosykos that day: the EDT, the hair mist, the lotion. I'm ascending into fig tree heaven just thinking about it.”
3/5 Unique“I guess one thing to keep in mind is that they offer both EDT and EDP concentrations of several of their scents, and they're not just different strengths, they're actually different scents. I like the EDTs of Eau Duelle and Philosykos better than the EDPs and I like the EDP of Eau Rose more than the EDT. You really have to try them on skin. Two fragrances I now love on my skin are Fleur de Pea EDT and Eau de Sens EDT, but I hated both of them on paper test strips!”
5/5 Sweetness“Philosykos isy favourite fig but I would never say it is sweet. It's a more whole tree fig, with a touch of creaminess (I'm using the EDP).”
4/5 Longevity“I used to not buy any perfumes that didn't have good longevity, but as I get more into fragrance and my collection gets larger, I realize there is a role for short lived fragrances. I spray two to three times a day and sometimes I don't want a fragrance that lasts 6+ hours. Sometimes I want to test something in the evening and so a 30min to 1h longevity for a beautiful scent is appropriate. It has to be GORGEOUS though. For me it's Diptyque Philosykos that changed my mind on longevity!”
4/5 Fresh & clean“What broke the cycle was Diptyque Philosykos and Eau Duelle, both EDT.”
1/5 Value“I like the opposite, which is, for example, Philosykos, which smells like a tree.”
3/5 Synthetic / harshValue“Thé Matcha and Philosykos are definitely among the top ones.”
5/5“Philosykos with a coupon? This is my fave and I'm a fig freak. I did order (after too many margs) a scent from the champagne socialist called the tree of knowledge I think. It's an oil. I haven't gotten it yet but it's supposed to smell like Philosykos and it was really inexpensive. I'm trying to love fig infusion and matcha 26. But Philosykos has my heart.”
5/5 Unique“I have decants of both and tried them side by side, and they're hard to tell apart. I went for a fb of the EDT in the end but wish I'd gone for EDP because of longevity and slightly more creaminess. (I typically do not prize longevity but with Philosykos it's different). Still love the EDT tho and will use it up!”
5/5“I'm on a fig journey too! I have Philosykos, Debaser, Debaser in Bloom and Wulang Cha and enjoy all of them, but my current addiction is In This World by Liis. Even got the body lotion to try and boost it. It's very intimate but I love it so much!”
4/5 Fresh & clean“Oh after-shave is a solid idea. but I dont ever shave, just trim haha. I currently use diptyque philosykos which is a really fresh/light pure figs scent. It goes really well with the original dove body scrub and the laundry detergent I use. Ive gotten a compliment from a couple patients but it's not exactly the place you look for compliments on scent you know. idk I think ideally you'd want to wear almost nothing in the hospital but at the same time you want to smell somewhat fresh?”
5/5 Value“I love Philosykos! I got Skybottle Muhwagua lotion and body mist off Mercari recently to see how similar it is, and maybe have a cheaper alternative for regular days.”
4/5 Fresh & cleanSummer“In my climate it doesn't get stupid hot or cold but it's quite humid all year round. I find a lot of Diptyque works really well all year around, I quite enjoy Philosykos and Fleur de Peau at any given time. Ebony Wood Elixir from Zara also works all year on me, I'd die for this perfume honestly. My current summer go-to is Idole Peach and Roses and in general I use a variety of fresh rose perfumes currently.”
4/5 Fresh & cleanFall“I have a selection of office frags but they mostly fall into: fresh, tea, fig, citrus or light floral (things like The Yulong, Philosykos, any of the Hermes Jardins, Guerlain Idylle)”
5/5“I'm in a similar predicament with Philosykos. Much as I have loved it, my nose is getting saturated with it. There are even seen supermarket dupes where I live...”
5/5“Oh how lucky you found that set! I am finding that I am a Diptyque person myself. Other than Lilyphea I have tried philosykos and it is such a beautiful realistic green fig. I have just tried lily and Philo and they are both loves for me. Lilyphea was just show stopping for me.”
5/5“I don't know why but I cannot smell Fleur de Peau. I re-sprayed and the most I could smell was a very faint skin-like scent if I sniff closely. There is something I'm anosmic to. Philosykos does not agree with me (I smell like heavy greasy leaves lol) but I love my Orpheon solid perfume. I bought it because I wanted something close to my skin, but it projects surprisingly well for a solid. I'm going to check out the edp once the all my refills are gone.”
5/5“I have sampled the entire Hermes Un Jardin collection recently and I really liked it! I will check out the others. In general I love green fragrances, they work very well for me. Perfumes like Philosykos are made for me.”
5/5“Philosykos was my first niche fragrance and arguably my strongest love at first sniff. It blew me away and got me into niche and as you can see I haven't ventured much outside of Diptyque since, lol.”
5/5 Unique“Wow I love how unique your list is! The only one I've tried is Philosykos. It's greener than I typically like but based on the rest of your list, I think it will be right up your alley (plus so many people love it so I think I'm in the minority not being a huge fan). I LOVE the anticipation of waiting for a big decant order so enjoy!!”
5/5 Longevity“I have Philosykos and Oyedo, I like how creative these scents are. Philosykos doesnt last as long as Oyedo, but I love the powdery fig tones. And Oyedo smells like an citrucy gin tonic champainge electric afternoon, which absolutely, you know?”
5/5“I have sampled Fleur de Peau EDP, Tam Dao EDT and EDP, Philosykos EDP, and Eau Rihla. They each have an elegant simplicity with such amazing, natural scents.”
5/5 Fresh & cleanUnique“Got it last week as a blind buy and I absolutely love it. It was exactly what I was hoping for, just wish it were longer lasting. I layer it with Bath and Body Works Book Loft, I swear they're identical. I really hope BBW starts selling it in body care again. I also own a travel spray of Philosykos, which is lovely in a completely different way, sharp, green, and fresh.”
1/5 Longevity“Yuck! I believe you, based on how vile the two I tried were. I did like Philosykos EDT & EDP but not “would purchase this” like. The longevity is abysmal.”
