What Reddit owners say

4/5 Mass appeal

“For men, to me Green Irish Tweed is great for this and safe enough to use daily even in warm weather. Just smells like you are in a tailor shop about to be measured for a bespoke suit. You feel great wearing it but it's not overbearing, is pretty mass appealing, and no one isn't going to like it.”

“Potentially unpopoluar opinion so apologies in advance - I have tested GIT on a number of occasions, same with other Creed scents. Cannot understand the hype and why Creed keeps coming up in ‚niche' frangrance threads as being an amazing go-to scent etc etc. For me GIT, as with most other Creed scents, are boring, completely unremarkable, designer fragrances made for mass appeal. The emperor's new clothes. And as for Creed longevity! Give me a break. The brand prices their product about 50% higher than its worth and it sells, so hats off to them. Total snoozefest imo.”

“One that grew on me was Green Irish Tweed. Absolutely hated it when I smelled it at a Creed boutique; thought it smelled like cheap soap. Got a sample to try since everyone loves it and I loved it too after a couple tries. Now I have a bottle of it and it's one of my favorites haha One that I don't like as much as I used to is Spicebokh Night Vision. It's still a good one, and I do wear it probably once every two weeks or so, but it's just kinda overpowering and doesn't have that much complexity to it. Don't hate it though”

“GIT is so much more pleasant and sweeter than Irish Springs, but I get the comparison. Many report it smells like an older gentleman's fragrance… I have been in love with it since my early 20s.”

“I personally like 2mL because a lot of times the tiny atomizers are pretty bad and I have to spray more to get good coverage. Just finished an “official” decant of Creed GIT today and I had to spray more than 10 times to get anything good. The ones in your picture seem much more solid though. Personally I've been on a hot streak of getting good samples from sales reps recently. Idk if I have a silver tongue or what but I was able to get 4 samples from a PDM rep at Bloomingdale's the other day at least 3-4mL a piece free of charge.”

“No they're just a little loud working around patients and the scents can fill a room if applied right before work. My anesthesia buddy wears Green Irish Tweed but he sprays it a couple hours before work so it "settles" down. He actually receives compliments since people think its his shampoo or body wash 😂. I wear Meteore from Louis Vuitton but I spray it before bed and its a very subtle skin scent when I'm with patients in the morning.”

“People seem to really love the freshness of Green Irish Tweed and while I did enjoy the nice 15 minutes of fresh top notes, the rest of the time it smelled like celery and pepper lmao. Over the wintertime I got really into patchouli and tried so many patchouli forward scents.”

“Sedley is too generic imo, it doesn't do anything for me. Imagination is generic but it's done so well. Well blended, versatile as heck. GIT has slowly grown on me. It just smells classy! Another versatile king! Haven't gotten my nose on Musk Therapy. My vote is for GIT.”

4/5 Fresh & cleanSpring

“Its in the same vein as tres nuit or creed green Irish tweed. Fresh, almost like being in a woodsy spring. Good layering scent, also good as is. But I bought them small on purpose. It needs reapplication or it just disappears after a couple hours. Same is true of creed and tres nuit, I think the pics are just that much lighter than the heavier scents. I would recommend it, especially considering the perfumer who invented it also made Creed GIT. They are sister scents that are hard to distinguish outside of people who know their cologne”

“Love profumo, it was the first fragrance I ever bought. My summer rotation is Green Irish Tweed, Himalaya, and Colonia Essenza right now. Had to vault my profumo since I only have about 60ml left lol Le sel didn't click for me personally but I've only worn my decant a few times. How do you like it?”

“Yeah I mean $85 for a 30mL with way less trade/sell value than a real bottle sucks, but not as bad I guess. I wouldn't have called it a blind buy at 5ml of course, but 30ml is a small bottle. I got cocky because I had a few blind 30ml decants go really well before that. Meteore, greenly, and GiT were all back to back misses for 30ml and caused me to go back to 10ml, even if the notes looked like something I would love to”

“D&G Light blue eau intense. I have to make sure not to use more than two sprays. Very masculine but in a more aquatic sense. Other option/vibe would be Green Irish tweed but it doesn't perform as well as the latter. Arguably more masculine but a different kind of fresh”

“I'm a 90s baby, so it reminded me of the aftershave that the men wore when I was growing up. I like wearing it when I'm feeling nostalgic, and my wife loves it. It's mature smelling without feeling dated, so it might turn off a lot of guys under the age of 30. Green Irish Tweed is actually my favorite fougere, but I'll get through this bottle before moving on to GIT though.”

“Scent is subjective, and although I enjoy Creed for the most part I can't deny that their scents have issues. I think if you're going to buy Creed, don't expect a lot in the performance and do it for the scent experience. I feel fortunate in that the Creed bottles I own give me decent to excellent performance. My Green Irish Tweed lasts all day on me and projects like crazy for the first few hours.”

“Can someone plz help me understand the appeal for GIT? I have tried and tried. I truly want to like it but it smells like potpourri to me. I don't understand how it's masculine or rugged? I will say on occasion I'll catch a whiff that smells dry, fresh, and green. In those instances, I get it. Overall I just can't get past the potpourri flowery smell. Bad sample maybe?”

“Hi guys, any update about this fragrance. I want something similar to this... I love that fresh green note. Kinda herbal and refreshing... NGL, I like it much better than many perfumes under 700. I tried terre d Hermes, I kinda feel they share the same DNA, ofcourse I can be wrong. But maybe that cedarwood and patchouli is making me feel so. But this black code, kinda feels like a mixture of Aqua di gio and creed green irish tweed. Do let me know if someone has something similar or a better recommendation of this DNA.”

“I got a headache and some dizziness from Creed green irish tweed when I sprayed some right on my chest. Putting it on the creases of my arms and wrist made it better. According to chatgpt at least some people can get that from the stuff added to creat more "fresh/floral" notes. Might be completely wrong ofc!”

“Thanks for the suggestions! I smelled Vetiver Fauve from the atomizer at the Guerlain booth when I bought the EDT but haven't given it a proper sample yet. Reading online about it, looks promising. Glad you mentioned Floris! Wish they got more attention, they have some great scents. Neroli Voyage is one of my favorite summer scents. Will look into Elite and Jermyn street. I feel like I might have read about those in the past and seem to recall one of them being compared to Green Irish Tweed?”
